“HOW MUCH IS LASIK” By Dr. Martha Jay, Ophthalmologist at Lakeshore Eye Care Professionals with offices in Mequon and Saukville, Wisconsin
We frequently have patients call with only one question, “How much is LASIK?” While an understandable question, price really should not be your most important consideration. You want to be confident that you have selected an experienced doctor who uses the safest and most precise technology available for your LASIK procedure.
At Lakeshore Eye Care we exclusively offer blade-free iLASIK. This means that we use two lasers instead of one to perform your LASIK procedure. The first laser, called the IntraLase, places tiny air bubbles below the surface of your eye to make a small cap. This avoids the potential complications of the metal blade used by low cost clinics, making it almost impossible to have a complication during the procedure.
We then use the VISX Star S4 laser to contour the surface of your eye to compensate for your glasses prescription. This laser provides the safety of an eye tracker that locks on to your iris markings, assuring that the treatment is oriented exactly right. The VISX laser also provides the added precision of treating “higher order aberrations” in addition to your glasses prescription. This means that we can actually measure the physics of light as it enters your eye and use this information, which is unique to you, to provide the best possible vision.
As for experience, I am one of Milwaukee’s most experienced LASIK surgeons. You can rest assured that I will personally see you at each and every appointment, eliminating the worry that your care would be delegated to others.
Now that you know the important factors in selecting your LASIK doctor, give us a call to set up your complimentary no-pressure LASIK screening exam!
