WHY LASIK, WHY NOW? by Dr. Martha Jay, Ophthalmologist at Lakeshore Eye Care Professionals in Mequon & Saukville, Wisconsin

Those considering LASIK are looking to simplify their life - they are tired of the hassles and expense of contact lenses and glasses.  But what makes them finally decide to have LASIK? Often they have run out of contacts or their glasses need replacement or the contacts have become uncomfortable. They are where they are and are looking for a change.

The next step is pretty easy: A call to the office to arrange a screening exam. The exam takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on how many questions you have.  It can take place in either our Mequon or Saukville office. There is no need to be out of the contacts prior to this exam.  You learn why blade-free LASIK is safer and more precise than older technologies. You find out if LASIK is an option for you based measurements of various aspects of your eyes and your prescription. You get to meet Dr. Jay and the staff at Lakeshore Eye Care.

The step after that is also pretty easy: You set up a time to return for a more complete pre-operative evaluation including dilating drops. You find a couple of days you can be off work for the procedure and arrange a ride to the laser center in Brookfield.  You stop wearing your contacts for a week (soft) or a month (hard) before that next exam.  Then you sit back and prepare to be amazed!

Now all you have to do is take that first step…. Call 262-241-1919.
