Dr. Martha Jay is one of the first doctors in the area offering the new all-laser LASIK. She utilizes the IntraLase laser to generate the corneal flap at the beginning of the procedure. This eliminates the need for the metal blade and makes the procedure safer. Your recovery is also faster. Dr. Jay then applies the best laser available for the actual contouring of the eye – the VISX S4 IR laser. While this laser may be the most expensive to operate, it is certainly worth it. It's patented WaveScan technology allows for customized ablations to compensate for subtle higher order aberrations which are specific to your eyes. The result is even better vision than before. This laser also has an eye tracker that not only keeps the laser aligned if you pull away during the procedure, but also locks on to irregularities in your iris to assure good centration. Safely and precision are what you want for your LASIK procedure.  The pairing of the IntraLase and VISX lasers delivers just that.
