Dr. Martha F. Jay is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist with extensive experience in the medical and surgical care of the eyes. She trained at the prestigious Northwestern University Department of Ophthalmology, completing her residency in 1992 to found Lakeshore Eye Care Professionals in Mequon, Wisconsin.

Dr. Jay specializes in small incision cataract surgery and blade-free LASIK. She offers cataract surgery with Premium bifocal and toric (for astigmatism) lens implants so her patients can enjoy excellent vision with less reliance on glasses after their procedure. Dr. Martha Jay has also been active in refractive surgery from the days of RK (radial keratotomy) and is an accomplished LASIK surgeon. She was the fist eye surgeon in the Milwaukee area to perform laser refractive surgery and has remained at the forefront of the field ever since . Before medical school, Dr. Jay completed a Ph.D. in Physiology. She did pioneering work in the vision field, publishing her dissertation project in the top medical journal, "Nature."
Dr. Jay is on the staff of Columbia-St. Mary's Ozaukee Hospital in Mequon where she performs cataract surgery and laser treatments for glaucoma and diabetes. She does her LASIK surgery at a dedicated LASIK center in Brookfield, Wisconsin which is equipped with the latest technology including the BRAND NEW faster, safer and more precise Alcon WaveLight FS200 Fentosecond and EX500 Excimer Lasers.
Dr. Jay is not all work, however. She and her husband, a professor of English at UWM, enjoy downtown living. In the summer, look for them sailing on Lake Michigan. In the winter, it’s off to the ski slopes. They have an adult daughter who shares their enthusiasm for travel and the great outdoors.
