Can I throw away my glasses after LASIK?

Lakeshore Eye Care | Post LASIK Surgery Saukville WI | Mequon WIWhile we do not guarantee that you will never wear glasses after LASIK vision correction, 99% of patients can drive even at night without glasses after LASIK.  And there are some who, while they are not required to wear glasses to drive by the DOT, may keep a weak pair of glasses to drive in unfamiliar areas or in bad weather.  This is more common if they elect to have mono-vision correction where one eye is corrected for distance vision and the other for near vision.

Everyone, if their distance vision is perfect in both eyes, will need reading glasses when they reach their mid-40's.  This is because the lens inside your eye loses it's ability to focus far-away and close-up at about that time.  Once you reach that age then inexpensive off-the-rack drug store reading glasses usually suffice.
